DO YOU REMEMBER LEARNING ENGLISH?

Do you remember learning English? Were you a participative student or did you prefer to remain quiet and listen? Recent studies have proved that speaking is an essential component in the acquisition of a second language, in opposition to the old-school approach based on teaching grammar first. Students that are learning English as a second language experience a very meaningful learning process when their speaking skills are practiced regularly. In class, it is important to create moments for them to talk, interact and communicate following the first language acquisition process (modelling, repeating and communicating in context). Regina Carmeli’s English teachers believe in the natural order of acquiring a second language and recently we have designed some materials for Primary students. Our goal is to help them improve their speaking skills and put into practice the structures we work in class, so later on they can apply them correctly and meaningfully in a text. After a few
